On Wednesday April 27, Governor Pat McCrory released a $22 billion budget adjustment plan for 2016-17 outlining his financial priorities for the year.

Proposals of interest to the University include:
- full funding of the System’s enrollment growth request
- one-time compensation bonuses for State employees (SHRA), capped at $3,000
- $3 million contribution to the UNC Faculty Recruitment and Retention Fund in strategic compensation allocations
- $5 million in Lottery funds to establish new merit scholarships for in-state undergraduate students in STEM and Health disciplines
Supplemental budget provisions are expected to be released next week.
The budget now moves to the N.C. House for additional consideration.
