| Budget Update On March 4, 2014, President Obama released his proposed FY 2015 Budget. The President proposes expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit and expanding the child and dependent tax credit. In addition, the President made several specific proposals related to higher education. This includes creation of the new College Opportunity and Graduation Bonus program that would provide an incentive payment to institutions based on the percentage of their on-time graduates who are Pell recipients. The proposed policy, as outlined in the budget, would reward institutions on a sliding scale based on program length. |
