NIH released last week theirĀ Notice of Salary Limitation on Grants, Cooperative Agreements, and Contracts. This pertains to the change included in the FY2012 appropriations legislation for NIH, which dropped the grantee salary rate cap from Executive Level I to Executive Level II. The rate limitation only limits the amount that may be awarded and charged to NIH grants/contracts and an institution may pay a researcher’s salary in excess of the cap with non-federal funds.
Also last week, NIH came out with theirĀ FY2012 Fiscal Policy for Grant Awards. It states that non-competing awards will be issued without cost of living/inflationary adjustments in FY 2012 and inflationary increases for future year commitments will be discontinued for all competing and non-competing grant awards this year.
